To celebrate the NBA All-Stars weekend, Nike has unveiled a giant interactive shoebox at the corner of Bowery and E. 3rd, New York City. This was the most noticable feature in the area. Their social media outlets took and increase of 200% on activity through out All-Star Weekend.
It is intended to promote Nike’s new ‘SNKRS’ app that’s launching later this spring for iOS and Android. ‘SNKRS’ allows fans to choose from Nike’s vast catalog of shoes and purchase them directly within the app. To provide a more customized shopping experience, it comes with the ability to follow favorite shoe franchises, receive notifications on upcoming releases, and view exclusive inside stories on how particular designs are made.
