NFL All-Star football player Charles Woodson was intrigued by wine when he traveled to Napa with his Oakland Raider team one year for training camp. He seen that Napa was really wine country and everyone drank wine everywhere he went. Woodson is a curious type of individual so he wanted to understand the process of how wine was made. Woodson crossed paths with Rick Ruiz who worked for Robert Mondavi winery and that where the wine making process began. These two individuals along with Gustavo A Gonzalez created the first barrel of what would be called “TwentyFour”. They produced a 2001 vintage of Merlot that was used to support various charities. Today the three individuals are working together on a second vintage which will be a larger quantity to get the awareness available. Woodson is truly an entrepreneur to the fullest, so look out for Twenty Four wines.
