Rachel Roy, the fashion designer comes from an immigrant background and credits her father with pushing her to work at an early age to inspire her to create her own business. She worked in fashion industry at 14 years old at Contempo Casuals in retail making clothing for a company in which she didn’t like the clothing designer but she was very good at making it. Her dad would say things like” Your living in a country where you can start your own business”, those were the words that she kept hearing over and over.

She began to meet all the right people from CEO’s to powerful lawyers and thus now majority of Rachel Roy’s labels are owned by a private company called Topson Downs. Roy is a very talented well rounded fashion entrepreneur with a lot of clients under her belt like Michelle Obama to Kim Kardashian just to name a few.
