Devean George ex-NBA professional basketball player has put his money where his mouth is, by giving back to his community of North Minneapolis where he grew up. After doing well for himself as a professional basketball player, George decided to do something for his community that isn’t the usual for most athletes. George teamed up with a former classmate Jamil Ford, who is an architect to build a 47 unit housing apartment building that included a grocery store inside the building. This is changing the vision of this community for sure because nothing is ever given to neighborhoods like this. If things go well George is looking to build another building with this project he has started. He’s truly trying to make his presence felt by literally changing the landscape of his community.
